Hi Everyone,
Wish you a wonderful 2025 - a year blessed with good health, discipline, luck and laughter galore.
I have missed writing immensely. As I moved on to newer professional commitments, paucity of time perpetuated and I have had to discard half written posts so many times. Sincere apologies !!
As I see the year ahead and the new initiatives I would like to pick up on the professional front while committing time to personal growth, I realize writing may continue to take a backseat. Still, I wanted to share some reflections and hopes as we step into 2025.
Reflecting on 2024,
Personally, it started for me with the most welcome arrival of guests. However, what started as excitement eventually became overbearing until their final departure after two months.
Professionally, it was a year of exploration. I attempted to start something of my own, but it didn’t materialize. Eventually, I embraced the opportunity to work with an immensely strong bank and team I had admired for years. This move has been both challenging and rewarding.
To end the year, we took a family vacation to New Zealand. It is such an extraordinary country that I found myself wondering if the name should be re-christened to "God's First Born Child" since "God's Own Country" has already been taken up.
The beauty and the natural landscape held us in awe. Every destination, practically felt like it cannot get more beautiful than this - the color of the water, the sky, the clouds and the valleys, the differently hued dense green atop mountains - all shades of green woven in a carefully chosen way, the sheep and the cows meandering across vast farmlands, the cherries, the lavender in perfect balance... It was mind blowing !!
Also what made the vacation a lot more fun was the diversity of experience - Sky dive, Heli Hike, Going through Ice Arch, Luging, Cruise through a Fiord, Whale Watching, Dolphin watching and seeing a Seal Colony up close.
Ended the year on a high with the thought that the two most important things are to prioritize well and manage your emotions.
Focus on the top three priorities for yourself while rest everything else is second order.
While maintaining focus on the top three things a lot of other distractions or unwelcome experiences will happen - you will face difficult personalities at work or home, you may find yourself overwhelmed with things to do, you may be stressed and anxious over your Child's progress, work targets or impending promotion, you may even end up questioning your beliefs or move to a point when you want to abandon it all.
When you’re clear about your priorities, you can navigate through distractions, stress, and challenges with greater resilience.
Just as you manage risk, manage your emotions
When you feel too elated, capitalize on the moment and start building for the next.
If something hurts deeply, get into the thick of things, communicate and resolve.
If you see no progress, mentally take a stop loss by ceasing to invest any further in that person or idea.
If you have your priorities set and the direction of travel is clear, even when the journey stalls or take unexpected detours, disciplined focus will eventually lead to the destination.
I wish you the very best for 2025 - profitable in every sense of the word. May it bring you success, joy, and meaningful growth. Remember, persistence and emotional balance are your greatest tools.
Wish you the very best !!
